Helpful Health Tips

If you are studying nutrition you maybe wondering what degree level to study up to. It all depends on what type of career path you desire to follow. Do you want to run your own practice? Do you want to work in a hospital, health food market, wellness center, or even in a clinic office? There is even the option of being an assistant, which can be titled lifestyle educator or dietetic technician. You could even work as an office manager, assisting in store inventory and front desk responsibilities.

Now, as an assistant, a career diploma, certificate, or associate degree is sufficient. If you want to work with clients and supplements, in a physician like position, then a bachelors, masters, and licensing is required.

Which career opportunity would you prefer to choose?

Wellness Centers

Have you thought about going to a wellness center? They usually include massage therapy, chiropractor, physical therapy, acupunture, yoga, and nutrition.

There are many types of massages, which include trigger point, swediah, deep tissue, sport, reflexology, prenatal, geriatric, and cranial sacral.

Chiropractic care is adjustment and manipulation of the spine. To go more into specifics, lets review the term subluxation. Basically, the vertebrae in the spinal column are misplaced or moved from their natural position.

Physical therapy aids in the promotion of mobility and functional ability of the body.

Acupuncture treats patients by manipulating thin, solid needles that have been inserted into acupuncture points in the skin. By stimulating these points, it can correct imbalances in the flow of qi through channels known as meridians.

Yoga is a physical, mental, and spiritual discipline. The goal of yoga is the attainment of a state of perfect spiritual insight and tranquility while meditating.

Lastly, nutrition is the body’s absorption of food. The body needs macro and micro nutrients which include fats, carbs, proteins, vitamins, and minerals.

So which one of those six treatments would you like to explore first?

If you have chronic fatigue, migraines, fibromyalgia, allergies, eczema, or any other health condition, then visit the Nutrition Treatment Center. From the expert—Tom Bilella—to the polite and knowledgeable staff, there is always a healthy notion surrounding the center.

From the time you make your first appointment with the front desk, you will have a very smooth, flowing experience. They carry so many supplements within their inventory, it is truly remarkable. There are so many herbs that it is like being in the whole body section of a Whole Foods Market.

Now, most importantly is the client’s treatment protocol. Tom is extremely precise with each client’s individual needs, which is rare to find in our healthcare system. Tests within this protocol include a Body Composition Analysis (BCA), which is rare to find in a nutritional center, and a Diet Cure Assessment (DCA.) The BCA is used to measure an individual’s weight (pounds), muscle mass, and water weight. As for the nutritional program, everything is considered, from food allergies to your Daily Recommended Intake (DRI) of proteins, carbohydrates, fruits, and vegetables.

Thriving with Celiac

Have you ever browsed the world wide web for information on celiac disease or gluten intolerance? It feels like the journey of research may never end. Well, if you need a break from the hard-core reading and need more support then, try reading blogs.

There is this one blog site in particular called, “Thriving with Celiac“, for all celiac warriors. Created by Nancy Olson, a fellow Celiac, who went through the trials and tribulations of being told, “I don’t know what’s wrong.” I am sure we all can relate, at one point or another, I know I certainly can. This is one reason she started this blog and has invited other contributors to share guest posts.

Here you can find words of wisdom, advice, recipes, resources, and even information on related conditions that intertwine with Celiac disease.

If you like to check it out for yourself please visit http://thrivingwithceliac.com/ and like our Facebook page called, Celiac Warrior. This is a website made by a Celiac for Celiacs.

Cold and Flu Season

It’s that time again! It is the heart of winter and that can mean only one thing, “cold and flu season has arrived.” If you prefer not to take antibiotics you maybe wondering, what can I take to combat an illness?

Well, there is an alternative approach, which includes oregano, larch arabingolactan, selenium, vitamin C and A. These herbs, vitamins, and minerals have a powerful affect on fighting off infections. They can even aid in preventing it all together.

There are also certain food products that can assist your body as well. Of course, the good, old fashion chicken soup, along with carrots, ginger, and oranges. Ginger is an anti-inflammatory, oranges contain vitamin C, and carrots have vitamin A. They are also anti-viral remedies.

Hopefully, we can make it to the spring time with a healthy approach and outlook.

GF Oils

Has anyone heard of any research being done to remove gluten from certain oils? Well, I know that wheat germ and maybe even some hydrogenated oils contain gluten.

One may think that oils do not contain gluten. There is however, a possibility that the oil was cross contaminated due to seasoning. Wheat germ oil can also be found in cosmetics, such as lipsticks, lotions, etc…

Now, is there gluten in oils when they’re hydrogenated? This seems to be a big question among the Celiac community. Some individuals seem to think the answer is yes, while others believe the answer is no. I personally would question the flavoring, seasoning, and if it says something to the effect of hydrogenated proteins then, call the company for a definite confirmation of gluten free.

Very odd place to discover gluten, but you never know…
